On 14 May 2025, we once again worked alongside the Dr. Rainer Wild Foundation as its event management partner to implement the scientific format of the Dr. Rainer Wild Award ceremony - this year in the stylishly modern ‘Berliner Freiheit’ at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin. The foundation, which has been committed to promoting a balanced and healthy diet in society at multiplier level for over 30 years, awarded two prizes for outstanding achievements in the field of healthy nutrition.
Over 80 invited guests from science, research and the food industry ensured an impressively strong and diverse audience of experts. After an atmospheric musical prelude by the Ukrainian string quartet MRIYA, the award ceremony was opened by Dr Hans-Joachim Arnold, Chairman of the Board of the Dr Rainer Wild Foundation and the Rainer Wild Art Foundation, with this year's focus on ‘Politics & Society’. As in previous years, Dr Silke Lichtenstein, Scientific Director and Managing Director of the Dr Rainer Wild Foundation, was responsible for the conception of the stage programme. The award ceremony was complemented by inspiring presentations and speeches from the foundation's board of directors as well as personal laudatory speeches by close companions of the two award winners.
The event was particularly honoured by the visit of Dr Margareta Büning-Fesel, President of the Federal Agency for Agriculture and Food (BLE). In her speech, Dr Büning-Fesel emphasised the key role of science communication in social change, which she identified as a common theme for the award winners. Anna-Carolin Schäfer was honoured for her contribution to the revision of the DGE's nutritional recommendations and Prof. Dr Thomas Vilgis for his life's work, in which he vividly combines science and culinary art. The official part of the event was rounded off with an on-stage interview designed as a generation talk: both award winners engaged in a moderated discussion with each other, answering questions about their individual perspectives and personal points of contact with the topics of nutrition and science. This was a meeting of young scientists with many years of experience - an exchange that offered both personal insights and professional depth.
Afterwards, the evening ended in a pleasant atmosphere with healthy food and a lively exchange between guests, award winners and the Dr Rainer Wild Foundation. A special highlight this year was the accompanying exhibition organised by the Rainer Wild Art Foundation. The selected works of art complemented the stage programme in a creative way and created a sensual setting in which science and art merged.
Our team, led by Simon Schoofs, was responsible for the comprehensive organisation, support and event implementation of the interdisciplinary festive event for the scientific nutrition and health community. As a competent event and marketing agency with a focus on the strategic orientation around the needs of the health and nutrition industry, we were responsible for the entire participant management, as well as the location management and control of the stage programme including showcalling. We were also responsible for the coordination with artists and service providers, as well as the media preparation. We also advised the Dr. Rainer Wild Foundation in order to design an inspiring and atmospheric supporting programme and to enable a harmonious interior design.
We would like to thank the Dr Rainer Wild Foundation for the great cooperation and look forward to future joint projects in which science and culture are combined in a special way.
